What is BIND SME?

At BIND SME, startups will be able to face the new challenges of the industry and immerse themselves in the Basque Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem, through open innovation. The selected startups will implement their solutions in real environments, collaborating with one or more leading industrial SMEs in the Basque Country.

This public-private initiative of BIND has been to bring startups closer to SMEs in order to speed up their digital transformation and face and solve their technological challenges.

The driving force behind the BIND SME initiative is to bring the BIND open innovation platform and ecosystem model closer to the collaboration of SMEs and startups. Sectoral challenges for Smart Industry

BIND SME members identify a number of digital transformation challenges. The aim is to respond to these challenges by developing innovative projects in collaboration with technology startups. Once the startups’ applications have been submitted, SMEs select the solutions that best suit their needs, depending on the challenges posed. In some cases, more than one startup may be selected for the same challenge.

5th Edition: 20 SMEs looking for new technologies

The SMEs that form part of BIND SME are leaders in their sector. This year, 20 SMEs are seeking innovative solutions to respond to the new challenges posed by the industry in its digital transformation process, through the application and development of disruptive technologies.
